    We stayed in this beautiful cottage for 2 nights for my partner's birthday. Jo was extremely helpful with the instructions on how to find the cottage and how to check in, as well as a guidebook in the cottage of what to do and see around the area. Jo was friendly and welcoming on our arrival, and showed us in. The surrounding villages were beautiful, and we visited Buxton and Bakewell which were under 30 minute drive away. The views from the cottage were lovely, and we said we would love to return in the summer to make the most of the scenery from the garden! Thanks for having us and hopefully we will be back again x

    We had the most wonderful stay at Jo’s cottage. It was a perfect way to spend our first Christmas married. The place was absolutely spotless and had everything we could possibly need for Christmas. It was so nicely decorated and we felt completely at home from the moment we got there. Jo is very responsive and very helpful. We would definitely love to visit again and utilise this lovely cottage - there was also some great information about local walks which we took advantage of. Thank you again it was just perfect for us!

    We had a lovely relaxing time at Jo’s place. The cottage was very cosy and spotlessly clean and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for cooking a meal. The area is great for walking and there is also a pub just a 5 min walk away that does lovely food. We would definitely stay here again!

    Our third time staying in this beautifully appointed cottage, which always exceeds our expectations as the hosts maintain the property to an exceptionally high standard, adding new things - an outdoor swing seat, additional seating, a new barbeque, a new sofa and the like to continually improve. The cottage and gardens are so relaxing and comfortable; Jo and Paul have created a real home from home that you won't want to leave! They have also provided lots of helpful information and recommendations about the local area and are so friendly too - thank you! Looking forward to visit number four...

    We had the pleasure of staying at this cottage for a long weekend, and it was, without a doubt, the best Airbnb experience we’ve ever had. The property offers complete privacy, allowing us to fully unwind in a peaceful and serene environment. Jo, the host, warmly welcomed us on arrival, which made us feel right at home. She was attentive and kind but then left us to enjoy our stay without any interruptions—a perfect balance of hospitality and respect for our privacy. The cottage was extremely clean and well-maintained, with every detail thoughtfully considered. It was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect retreat for relaxation. The decor was beautifully done, creating a calming atmosphere that we absolutely loved. My husband drives a Ford Ranger truck, we often struggle to find adequate parking at other places, but that was never an issue here. This place was everything we hoped for and more. We can’t wait to return for another stay and enjoy this little slice of heaven once again.

    We had a fantastic week away at The Summer Cottage. It was so peaceful with amazing views and really felt like a home from home. We took our baby and it was great space for us all. Really lovely touches having a welcome bottle and chocs, these were very much enjoyed. The cottage is immaculate and we would recommend to others a visit.     Jo was a wonderful host. She was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We have been to many cottages over the years, but very few were as peaceful and homely like this cottage, which was in such a stunning setting. The cottage was very well equipped and met all our needs. The conservatory was a wonderful addition, a very relaxing place to unwind in. We would thoroughly recommended this cottage - we will definitely be back! Thank you Jo for a lovey relaxing week.

    We had a wonderful time at Jo's place with our 10 month old little girl. Jo was really helpful in providing a high chair, travel cot and even a grest little baby bath. Jo met us on arrival and was really friendly and helpful. She checked we had all we needed and happily went to get some extra bedding for the travel cot for us. The place was gorgeous and such a brilliant space, which felt very welcoming and cosy. We would love to come and stay again in the summer to make the most of the outdoor seating space too, with the amazing views over rolling fields. Thank you for a wonderful stay Jo, we would love to come back again soon.

    Driving down the winding driveway away from the world we found the stone cottage in front of us. Jo was there to greet us and run through and questions we had. The cottage itself was well stocked with all you’d need, incredibly clean and welcoming. We had a wonderful 2 nights hidden away feeling so relaxed in this cosy bolt hole. It was a good base to drive out in different directions in the Peak District. We loved it and can’t wait to return.

We went with our 11 month old and Jo really helpfully provided an excellent highchair and baby bath. Couldn’t ask for better host and holiday stay!

    The Cottage was perfect and everything we needed for a quiet and relaxing week away. We were made to feel welcome and the Cottage itself was set up with everything we needed. Even thought the weather was -7 the cottage was warm and cosy. Secluded and out of the way of any hustle or bustle, it was perfect for switching off. We will definitely be back in the future. The host Jo and her family made us feel very welcomed aswell. Thank you very much.

    Everything about our stay was excellent. The stand out aspect was the quality of the accomodation. Not done on a buy to let budget but as if you’d bought it yourself. Stay and you’ll see what I mean. Highly recommend this accomodation in all respects, you will not be disappointed.

    The cottage was a beautiful peaceful setting, with lovely decor and a cosy home away from home feel. Jo had left lovely touches like chocolates in the kitchen, and was a friendly helpful presence whenever we saw her, with recommendations for what to do. She also provided a travel cot and high chair which saved us a lot of faff! The bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in with lovely quality linen, and the bathroom was spotless and felt like new. We truly felt comfortable just relaxing in the cottage and enjoying the stunning scenery. With our travel sick toddler we couldn’t go too far but enjoyed pram-friendly walks at Tittesworth reservoir and Ilam Park. Would love to come again and have already recommended this lovely setting and host to lots of people.

    We had a really relaxing long weekend here. It was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and felt very homey. The location is so peaceful with amazing views. It’s only a 15 min drive to Alton Towers which was great for us. There are also so many lovely walks to go on close by, we wish we had more time to explore! Jo was a really friendly, warm host. We couldn’t ask for anything more. Would definitely recommend.

    If you see this place and consider it, book it. Jo is an excellent host. Made sure to greet us on arrival, had some goodies for us waiting. It's a 10 minute drive to Alton Towers & 4 minutes to Peak Wildlife park. The cottage is beautifully done and incredibly private. The kitchen is one of the best stocked I've been to, so you don't need to bring all your herbs and spices. We arrived, and instantly decided to book the place again next year for a couple of extra nights so we get a proper chance to explore the local area and spend more time in this space.

    All I can say is this is one of, if not the best Airbnb we have stayed in to date. The cottage was immaculate - spotlessly clean, and so well presented. Whilst hosted on Jo’s land, we felt the cottage had lots of privacy but with fantastic views. The kitchen was well stocked with lots of provisions, the bathroom was spacious with a fantastic shower, and the bed was super comfy. The cottage has an excellent WiFi connection. Jo was a really welcoming host, showed us around upon arrival and even left us a very nice welcome gift! I mistakenly left some personal items behind upon departure, and Jo very kindly posted them back to me the same day, The location is perfect and allowed us to explore some walks around the Peak District with ease, but to be honest we didn’t do as much walking as we thought we would, as the cottage was so relaxing to spend time in and just unwind from our super busy lives back home. I cannot recommend this Airbnb enough - you will be very pleasantly surprised!

    Jo's property was everything I expected, and more. I was lucky enough to spend almost a month in such a lovely property and beautiful quiet area. The sunroom is a lovely bonus, and the cottage is at the edge of a hamlet, just inside the Peak National Park. Leek, which is ten minutes away, has plenty of good retailers/supermarkets. There are lots of interesting and beautiful places to visit within half hour or so from the property, and if you like walking or hiking you'll be spoilt for choice! Rudyard Lake and Chatsworth grounds stood out for me. Jo and her family were so friendly and welcoming, but Jo is the stand out star, being so helpful and kind as I was staying on my own. I had everything I needed for my stay and it was all spotless. The views from the living room and kitchen windows were gorgeous and there are good walks straight from the property. I'm planning to return next year to experience the abundance of autumn colours, which may surpass all the lush greenery in May.

    This is the best AirBNB we have stayed in across the world. We found the bed comfortable with nice linens and bedding. The place has everything you could possibly need. It is in a great location to hike Dovedale and the Manifold trail. We explored Tissington and Harrington and were glad to come “ home” to a warm, comfortable space to relax and wash our muddy clothes. Jo was fantastic at communicating and very friendly. Thank you. Ps the shower was LOVELY.

    This cottage was perfect to relax in after a long day of hiking - it was homely, modern, spacious and had everything you could possibly need & want for a self-catering accommodation. Jo went the extra mile to provide milk, tea and coffee for our stay and we even got a bag of pastries for our arrival! We would absolutely recommend this place to our friends and family - 5 stars all round!

    This holiday let was just perfect. Very clean and tidy and the shower was to die for after a long walk on the Roaches WOW what a perfect walk not for the faint hearted but give it a go and don't miss out on Lud's Church as part of the walk. Second day of walking we went to Thor's Cave again worth the hike up to it. Jo was an amazing host always to hand if we needed anything but we didn't as it was all there. Don't wait get booked up you will not be disappointed. Thank you Jo we will be back.

    You will not be disappointed in the slightest! This place will beat your expectations by far and that is a promise! Beautiful Summer Cottage with modern quirky decor surrounded by the beautiful views of the Peak District! An incredible location only 10/15 minutes away from the town and Alton towers as well as a vast majority of walks you can go on in the surrounding areas if you wish to touch your adventurous side! The hosts are also absolutely fantastic, wonderful and welcoming people! Anything you need, just ask. They have the loveliest dogs too! Jo also made my partners birthday extra special by putting up banners and balloons in the conservatory. I can't fault this place at all!

    Absolutely lovely place to stay. We received a very warm welcome. There were croissants waiting for us when we arrived. The owner lives nextdoor but the cottage is completely private. The location is ideal as it is close to all the lovely walks. The bed was super comfortable. The interior is decorated to very high standard. There is a very good heating system and a luxurious bathroom. There is a lovely sitting area outside and inside with bright big windows. If Jo is not a superhost she should be one. Will definitely recommend to friends.

    We highly recommend staying at this cottage. Jo has thought of everything you could possibly need for a stay and has lots of local tips on walks and things to do nearby. The cottage was sparkling clean, very comfortable and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The Jervis Arms is a five minute walk and has great pub food too!

    The cottage on the web site looks fantastic, and the photographs could have been taken the day before we arrived, the condition of this property is exactly as you see it. It is clear that a great deal of effort has been taken in the conversion of the building into high quality accommodation. In addition, equal thought has gone into adding the finishing touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Staying at a time when we wanted to be self contained to avoid contact with others, we lacked for nothing. Great walking when it was sunny and a comfortable place to relax when raining. If you want to "get away from it all" in beautiful surroundings, in charming accommodation - this is the place for you!
